I got an e-mail from the publicity person at Albert Whitman. Apparently a Cedar Rapids radio station is interested in having me as a guest for an “in-studio interview.” I know this is a great opportunity for publicity, but I can’t help but feel a little…PANIC!!! I’m a writer, not a speaker. What could I possibly have to say that would interest a radio audience? What if I giggle nervously or say something stupid???
Gulp! RADIO????
Cool!
Dori,
Radio? That’s awesome!
If you need some tips on this type of promotion, I highly recommend Susan Harrow’s book, “Selling Yourself Without Selling Your Soul.” You can read more about Ms. Harrow here: http://www.prsecrets.com/
Her website makes her look like some sort of “slick” marketer, but I’ve read the book and think it has lots of sound advice in terms of preparing for newspaper, radio and TV interviews.
Good luck!
Re: Cool!
Hey, thanks! I’ll check that out!
Oh yeah for you! Wow. I don’t know what to say on a radio show either but good luck.
Hey, Susan! Thanks for the comment. When I see your picture, I don’t think we’ve ever met in person, but I recognize your name. I think we’ve been on misc. online forums together.
