I had mostly positive comments from my critique group last week. One person even went so far as to say it was one of the best things she’d read of mine so far (clearly she hasn’t read all that much of my stuff!). I was especially worried about the multi-viewpoint and whether each voice was distinct and memorable enough. And one person did say that one of the characters needs a little more personality and that I need to be careful with a couple of others that they don’t become stereotypical (I actually meant for those two to APPEAR somewhat stereotypical at the beginning so I can show that there’s more there than meets the eye…but maybe I took it too far?). I did go back and rework those three characters, though, and I’m planning to send the whole package (sample pages and synopsis) to my novel writing group in the next day or two to see what they think (they tend to be tougher than my face-to-face critique group).

I thought I was actually done with the synopsis today, but as I was driving Preteen to play practice tonight, it hit me that I have a major logistics problem in the synopsis! I panicked through the first half of play practice because I didn’t know what I was going to do about it. But then I calmed down. It’s not THAT big of a deal…I can fix it…

Sounds like T.M.S. is almost ready to dazzle. I can’t wait to celebrate when it does!
