It looks like it’s shaping up to be a pretty good day.

1) My author copies of F is for Fire Fighting have arrived! I’m a real author…again.
2) Preteen is on a school ski trip (yeah, they work real hard here…they had to be at school at 6:30 this morning) and it’s 4:00 in the afternoon and so far I have not received a call telling me I need to drive to Dubuque to retrieve my “broken” child (he’s never been skiing before — neither have I, for that matter…and trust me, if any of those kids are going to break something today, chances are good it will be my Preteen)

Now, if the $400 glasses make it home in one piece…and the Columbia pants that he borrowed from me survive the trip, too, it’ll really be a good day.

And if I’m not already asking for too much, you know what would make this an even better day? If I could stop tinkering with TMS and send it off to my tough critique group already! I’ve got another 60 pages to go…and that ending still needs some serious attention. But I’m just not sure what to do with it. Still…maybe I should send it anyway (even though it’s not very polite to send something to your critique group that you know isn’t quite ready)…my friend D. is a master at helping me see what’s wrong and asking just the right questions to help me fix it.

Back to it…I’ve got another hour before anyone comes home…

Good things…

Congrats on your book!! I know what you mean about feeling like an author again. Once you have books you just want to keep having them. So glad great things are happening to you!!!

Yeah…I get a little panicked if I look down the road and DON’T have a book scheduled for publication…

    Hurrah! Tough?

Hurrah on F is for Fire Fighting!
But about the “tough” critique group–we only give as good as we get!
