I’m on track! I am as far into my revision of The Truth About Truman School as I said I’d be this morning. I’m on page 75…which, considering I started last Friday on page 13, is a big improvement. I’ve e-mailed my editor about a possible solution to the page 31 problem…and today I will get to page 100!

I was afraid I wasn’t going to reach my goal yesterday…considering I said my writing was “front and center” in my life, it was one of the last things I did yesterday (though I did write before I practiced my mandolin!). I took my 22-mile bike ride in the morning…then I peeled/seeded this huge bowl of tomatoes from my garden…and then I made salsa and tomato sauce out of all those tomatoes (all of which took WAY longer than I expected). But I have to say, the salsa I made yesterday was the best salsa I’ve ever made (and among the best I’ve ever had), so I’m going to type in what I did before I forget. As long as I remember I put it on LJ, I should be able to find this recipe again…

Dori’s Salsa:

20-25 Roma tomatoes (peeled/seeded/chopped)
1/2 an onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 Jalapeno peppers, finely chopped
1/2 bunch of cilantro, chopped
2 T. lime juice
salt and pepper to taste

Put the chopped onion and garlic in a strainer, then pour boiling water over them. Drain completely. Discard water. Cool.
Combine onion/garlic mixture with chopped tomatoes, peppers, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Refrigerate for an hour…enjoy!
