So, I was supposed to do this ALAN chat three weeks ago. (ALAN = Assembly on Literature for Adolescents) But the night it was scheduled was the night my dog took a turn for the worst. That was the night my vet here sent me to the emergency clinic in Cedar Rapids. An hour before I was supposed to do the chat, I was in Cedar Rapids…and I was being told that my dog may not survive the night. So my husband searched through all my e-mail and contacted the ALAN people to tell them I wasn’t going to be able to make it. Fortunately, they were very understanding…and they rescheduled me. For tomorrow (Wednesday) night. I’ll be here at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

My dog is doing GREAT, by the way! In fact, I think we can safely say she’s out of the woods. She’s going to be on heart medication (in addition to the thyroid medication) for the rest of her life. But we’re slowly weaning off the prednisone and the Lasix and we don’t even have to go back to the vet for another two weeks.

Yesterday when I came back from my jog, she greeted me at the door! She always used to greet me at the door, but she hadn’t done that since she got sick.

Bummer. You weren’t the only person to tell me that. 🙁

Instead of linking, I should have just sent people to the ALAN site and told them to click on the chat. I don’t know why my link didn’t work. It did when I previewed my entry this morning, but it doesn’t work for me now, either.
