The Young Writer's Guide to Getting Published

Kathy Henderson (Writer’s Digest Books, 2001)

This book offers practical writing and marketing advice.  There’s a section that spotlights young people who have been published and there’s a section of market listings

What’s Your Story (A Young Person’s Guide to Writing Fiction)

This how-to is aimed at students, but I have a copy of it on my own bookshelf.  It’s got wonderful information on character, plot, dialog and tension.

Write Where You Are: How to Use Writing to Make Sense of your Life: A Guide for Teens
Caryn Mirriam-Goldbert, Ph.D. (Free Spirit Publishing, 1999) 

This book encourages teens to use writing as a means to get to know themselves.  It also includes information on getting published.
